There are two ways to reach Dzükou Valley, which is through Viswema,or through Jakhama. The Jakhama trek is considered to be slightly more challenging.
In Dzükou Valley, there is no mobile network. There was no coverage on Airtel, Vodafone, or Reliance Jio networks. Mobile signals can be found at a few spots along the trail, but they are very weak. As it is a short trek, you can visit Dzükou Valley without losing touch with your family.
There is a motorable road for the first 8 kms, from there the trek begins with roughly takes around 3-4 hours.
The best or shall we say the popular time to visit Dzükou valley is from June to September as the clandestine Dzükou Lily, which is endemic to the region, blooms during this period. However, songs of love, war and survial of Nagaland are great throughout the year.
There are a lot of trees in the forest, and the trail can sometimes be confusing as well. It is best to take a local guide or to try the Vishwema route if you are going to do it. There are a lot of possibilities to find someone on the trail during the Dzükou Valley trek in peak season.
There is no electricity in Dzükou Valley, but the view of the majestic valley will definately keep you company.
