Day 1: Discovering Umngot River’s Origins

Welcome to the start of our adventure! Today, we embark on a trek along the scenic Umngot River, originating in Meghalaya and transforming into the famous Dawki River.

Starting from Pynter village, we descend downhill for 3 kilometers, dropping 850 meters in altitude. Along the way, we encounter two fascinating root bridges, one resembling a staircase.

Prepare to be mesmerized by the smooth textures of boulders and rocks as we reach the riverbed. We navigate these wonders, testing foot holds and hand grips. Swimming is saved for tomorrow.

Our campsite offers sandy beaches, network connectivity, and breathtaking stargazing opportunities. Try fishing for a fresh meal with fishing rods only.

Despite the 8.5-kilometer trek, it presents various challenges and adventures along the way.

Day 2: Making your way to Dawki

Dive into Meghalaya’s purest waters today! A 5 km trek awaits, with terrain like yesterday’s, so we will breeze through it.

Guides will locate the cliff-jumping spot for an adrenaline rush and you will traverse the hanging bridge still used by Amkoi villagers.

Our journey ends by afternoon with a scenic boat ride at Shnongpdeng. Kayaking and snorkeling are optional based on your interest and time.

This trek is ideal for adventurous nature lovers, whether you’re a beginner with enough self-motivation or an experienced explorer, ready to embrace both familiar and uncharted terrains.
